Still life has often been considered a minor genre, seen as decorative. Perhaps this link to domesticity lies not only in the triviality of the subjects treated, but also in the painting itself. For the exhibition Lines of solitude, Bryce Delplanque and Etienne François coexist with recognizable objects, trompe l'œil and less figurative paintings. They propose a dialogue between two practices but linked by a desire to delve once again into the work of the still life.
This exhibition takes place as part of the Duwoshows.
