HUMEDADES was born from a meeting between the artist Ángela Jiménez Durán and curator Margaux Knight. This text is the result of their exchanges and mutual curiosity. The project was collectively conceived with members of the ᵬase ᶀleue collective, including Vincent Chappuis, who materialized this dialogue by creating an original triptych.
This edition explores Ángela's unique artistic practice, renewing our attention to the things and presences of the world.
Ángela Jiménez Durán (1996, Madrid) is an artist in residence at POUSH. Her research in installation and sculpture combines science fiction, geology, and biology, exploring uncertain futures. In 2023, she is the recipient of the Art Eco-Design Prize awarded by Art of Change 21 x Palais de Tokyo.
Margaux Knight is an independent curator with a background in social sciences and Latin American studies. Her projects are informed by a reflective and critical experience of displacement, shifting perspectives, and feminist and decolonial epistemologies from a situated point of view. She has worked in various cultural institutions in Mexico and France, currently at the National Center for Visual Arts (Cnap).
ᵬase ᶀleue is a collective determined to navigate murky waters. As a space for artistic speculation, it stems from a common desire to explore together. Primarily invested in supporting young creation and craftsmanship, these activities are always presented during hybrid and protean events."
