EHESS seminar Orner le monde. From 31 October 2024 to 5 June 2025.
This year, the Orner le monde seminar at EHESS is continuing at La Parcelle, a cultural garden run by 19M, in collaboration with artists from POUSH. The focus will be on current ornamental practices, their new uses and possible ways of exhibiting them.
Orner le monde seeks to explore the contemporary nature of ornament, at the crossroads of craft skills, artistic creation and political and social commitment. It takes the form of a survey of current ornamental practices, their new uses and the ways in which they can be exhibited. This is a "research-creation" approach, in partnership with Rémi Labrusse, Director of Studies at the EHESS - Centre de recherches sur les arts et le langage (CRAL), and visual artist and embroiderer Fadela Benbia, who are co-directing the seminar.
With Estèla Alliaud et Henri Frachon, Rayan Yasmineh, Kenia Almaraz Murillo, Anna Le Corno, Luca Resta, Hector Castells Matutano, Marie Servas, Xolo Cuintle, Recycle Group, Déborah Fisher, Yvannoé Kruger
