Le Bureau des Olfictions, activated by Ece Bal and Leïla Vilmouth, is designed as an experimental protocol where memory and olfaction intertwine. During these sessions, visitors are invited to share a significant memory – whether happy or painful – that they wish to reactivate.
Listen, transcribe, translate into scents: this is the approach of the Bureau. Each narrative becomes the raw material for an olfactory composition, created using plant essences. This process gives form to an invisible memory, transforming memories into sensitive imprints to inhabit, summon, or reinvent.
This activation takes place at the heart of an immersive installation, where Leïla Vilmouth shapes a vibrant space, like a sensory organ, releasing curves and scents that spread throughout the very forms of the space and an olfactory installation by Ece Bal, made up of glass bottles blown by the artist, inviting visitors to create an olfactory melody and explore the links between memory and synesthesia.
