POUSH welcomes Myriam Jarmache in residence at Rift!

Lyric singer and dancer Myriam Jarmache joins Studio K at POUSH in October 2022. There, she continue her research into the decompartmentalization of opera singing, or how to desacralize a so-called “learned” art, summoning the intimate rather than the spectacular.

From February 10 to 14, she will be in residence at Rift. Her rehearsals for the performance Carmen, je chante pour moi-même will be open on February 12 and 13, from 5pm to 7pm. The performance will take place on February 14 at 7pm.

Carmen, je chante pour moi-même is a lyrical and visual performance based on Georges Bizet's opera Carmen. Myriam Jarmache, in collaboration with visual artist Surya David White, creates a form of ritual for Camen to rid herself of her feminicide.
