A carrier of endometriosis and long isolated from her own pain, Yaziame's aim with this series is to reflect and create in images and clay with people who feel this suffering in their own bodies. Her images and ceramics are based on discussions and interviews with friends who suffer from the same condition.

About Yaziame

Yaziame is a young Algerian artist who grew up in Montfermeil, France. After completing a master's degree in clinical psychology in France and Canada, she joined the Kourtrajmé school, Art and Images section, under the guidance of artists Ladj Ly and JR.

Her main medium is her mother's film camera, once used for family photos, which she uses to keep the memory of the present alive. For her, analog photography is a way of experiencing the present in all its slowness and intensity. She thinks of mediums in psychological, artistic and cultural dimensions. Her work explores the notion of the body, whether historical, spiritual or biological. In particular, she has worked on the historical body through her grandmothers, and on the invisibilisation of women during the Algerian war.

In 2020, she exhibits at Galeria Continua as part of the Intersection exhibition. In 2021, her work is presented at 104 Paris in the Hard Corps exhibition. The same year, she is invited by Parcours Saint Germain to exhibit her work.
