The Resonant Shelter, an exhibition by Michel Jocaille & Nils Alix-Tabeling. From 3 to 13 September, 2025.

The Resonant Shelter evokes the idea of a space that not only protects but also reacts, vibrates, and communicates with its occupants. At the heart of this mysterious basement, a room awakens like a secret, almost Cocteau-esque sanctuary. Domestic objects, like protagonists from a forgotten tale, embody the idea of a symbiotic co-evolution. A mutant cat with a human face seems receptive to the invisible whispers of a spider-like chandelier, composed of toxic-looking blown glass plants, as if a secret form of communication between species. Inspired by the thinking of Donna Haraway, this exhibition explores the mutation of objects and invites us to cross the threshold into a universe where domesticity is achieved through enchantment and metamorphosis. Thus, a beastly clothes rack, an animist chandelier, and a sibylline mirror reflect a world where domesticity becomes poetically tender and slightly unsettling, while a stool waits, ready to surprise beneath a silvery canopy that seems to flourish.

This exhibition takes place as part of the Duwoshows.
