POUSH welcomes Lizette Chirrime from April 28 to June 28 for the 2025 edition of the Gulbenkian & Thanks for Nothing – Creation and Engagement residency!

This new residency hosts, for two months, a Lusophone artist from the African continent — Lizette Chirrime — selected by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and Thanks for Nothing. It aims to promote an engaged artistic practice addressing social and environmental issues, while encouraging the inclusion of audiences distant from cultural spaces through co-creation workshops.

Lizette Chirrime will receive financial support, housing provided by KADIST, a studio at POUSH, and tailored support, including meetings with art professionals, gallerists, curators, and journalists. This project of creation and solidarity is driven by the shared values of both organizations. It continues the Gulbenkian Foundation and Thanks for Nothing's commitments to artistic excellence and social responsibility.

With the support of POUSH, KADIST, and the Centre Pompidou, the initiative seeks to enhance the international visibility of Lusophone African artists and to promote a sustainable and inclusive vision of contemporary art.

Celebrating socially engaged artistic practices through art and co-creation, a solidarity program will allow community groups and schools to participate in a collaborative creative process. Lizette Chirrime will co-create a work with these so-called "distant" audiences at the Centre Pompidou. The artwork will then be presented and activated by the general public at the Centre Pompidou on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
