In Strategies of Resistance, the balance and points of contact between form and matter appear both precarious and solid. The exhibition takes place underground, in a cavity whose orange-hued atmosphere evokes the aftermath of an apocalypse. Fenced-in undergrowth, a heavily guarded refinery, parched plants and volcanic soil cohabit with giant radio antennas, a clay dagger adorned with crystals and an alien creature. The artists gathered here form a nomadic and agile community, working to collectively build the future and rethink a vital harmony between the earth and its occupants. Resistance thus takes shape in the persistence to extract meaning and, to quote Philippe Aigrain in Jachère, in the “impatience [...] to feel once again part of a larger becoming”.
