Exhibition Chippendale Up-Close. Bryce Delplanque and Morgane Ely. From 24 to 30 march 2026.
On the occasion of Drawing Week in Paris, POUSH is officializing its collaboration with Galerie Joseph, a network of over 30 exhibition spaces in the Marais.
From March 24 to 30, 2026, POUSH presents duwoshows: artistic encounters designed as dialogues between two artists, sharing a common space where practices intersect and respond to one another.
Why did a male striptease troupe adopt the name of an iconic furniture style?
Bryce Delplanque and Morgane Ely explore this cultural shift between the "Chippendales" and the formal legacy of Thomas Chippendale, the 18th-century British cabinetmaker. In this duo show, the body and the decorative object merge to ask: how is the desire and value of a form manufactured?
Bryce Delplanque reinterprets a bourgeois interior in charcoal (1:1 scale), where a 1980s pin-up calendar discreetly slips among the precious woodwork.
Morgane Ely isolates anatomical fragments (biceps, torsos) which she engraves on wood, transforming the bulging muscle into an ornamental motif reminiscent of historical volutes. Between charcoal and engraving, ornament and muscle become interchangeable, a fascinating visual analysis of the staging of the body and the object as pure products of visual consumption.
This project is part of the Duoshows exhibition, which brings together six duo presentations: Anne Le Troter & Margot Pietri, Io Burgard & Jennifer Caubet, Bryce Delplanque & Morgane Ely, Yosra Mojtahedi & Hamid Shams, Misha Gudwin & Ivan Volkov, and Simmon Ballagny & Paul Pinon.
