POUSH arrives at the Hôtel de Viguier during the Rencontres d'Arles with the group exhibition Une poussière dans l'œil. From July 6 to 12, 2026.

For the first time, POUSH is participating in the Rencontres de la photographie d'Arles, presenting a group exhibition curated by Yvannoé Kruger and Simon Jung from July 6 to 12. Entitled Une poussière dans l’œil (A Speck of Dust in the Eye), it brings together Zoé Bernardi, Hector Garoscio, Sarah Makharine, Florent Meng, Adrien Missika, and Dune Varela within the exceptional setting of the Hôtel de Viguier, a heritage gem opening its doors after more than five years of renovation.

The exhibition begins with a simple question: what remains of us? An image, a trace, a narrative, a damaged material? The featured artists do not seek to preserve the world as it is; instead, they work from what is missing, what breaks, or what returns in a different form. Their interest lies not just in photography itself, but in how images are born, shaped, materialized, and sometimes veer off course. Here, an image can become a surface, a volume, an imprint, a residue, or an apparition.

In this context, the image acts in a paradoxical way. It can freeze, confine, or betray a memory. Yet, it can also capture something of disappearance, reopen a history, or allow for a form of reparation. These artists do not repair through restoration; they displace, crack open, and invent alternative forms of presence. Perhaps that is their role today: not to console, but to help us look at what breaks, and sometimes to understand what still holds together.

This initiative is made possible by BMW Art Makers, a support program dedicated to emerging creation by BMW, a patron of the Rencontres d’Arles since 2010.
